How Are You Supposed To Cancel A Scheduled Pickup?

The normal way that courier service is arranged is that it will be scheduled ahead of time. Usually, you will have a predetermined pickup time where you will expect your Cincinnati courier service to come and take your package. There are a lot of things that can happen though to disrupt your scheduled business. If you have anything that slows down either your production or which has caused an order to be cancelled, you're just not going to need that delivery made.

So, if you need to cancel your pickup, where do you start? It depends on the policies that are in place on the part of your courier company. You should always ask them what the preferred method is for canceling pickups. That way, you know that you can take the correct action and be sure that the pickup is accurately cancelled. There is nothing worse than thinking you've cancelled a pickup and then still having a courier show up.

Usually, they will either want you to cancel your order by telephone or online. Each method has their advantages, and some courier companies will tell you to choose which ever method you prefer. Online cancellations might be offered either via email, or via your online order tracking and account portal through the courier website.

When canceling by telephone, all you should have to do is call them and give them the original reference number of the delivery and tell them that you need to cancel the pickup. The same goes for email. If you have an online account with a courier, you may simply be able to select the relevant order and indicate that you no longer need the pickup.

There are some things which remain constant no matter which method you use to cancel your pickup. The most important of these is that you want to give your courier as much notice as possible about a cancelled pickup. This means that you should find a way to let them know as soon as you realize that you are no longer going to need the pickup made. This makes email a good option if you find out about the cancellation after business hours. That way, you can be sure that the courier will find out about it first thing in the morning. The more notice they have, the better the chance is that you won't be charged as much for a cancellation fee.
